Here we currently have a small number of intricately detailed works that the artist refers to as his "Amazonian Mythology" paintings. These beautifully detailed watercolors and oils provide us with dramatic vistas into the extraordinarily beautiful and sometimes terrifying world of shamanism - the traditional belief system of Amazonia. These paintings take us behind the scenes for glimpses into the spiritual history of these rainforest people, who until now have relied on word of mouth to pass along this time honored knowledge . Each of these works appears as a highly compressed and complex narrative dramatizing the interactions of the shamans with various spirits and energy systems. Luna's razor-sharp images and stunningly bright colors hint at the explosive energy that fuels this hidden world.

"I am not a shaman," Luna confesses. " I am only trying to record for history the result of thousands of years of behavior between the spirit world and the world of our people." He is currently working on a series of Mythology paintings that will cover more than 25 traditional landmarks in the spiritual geography of this important and fascinating subject.
